You know what makes a short hunt better for me?

Actually finding something.

I do short hunts a lot, especially in the summer time.
It seems that I hardly ever find anything, but really I
find stuff more often when I do that. It just doesn’t
seem like it sometimes.

I got to go the doctor in a few minutes so I only had
about half an hour to hunt. So I went to the park
down the road and hunted in the grass with my
Compadre.

I actually found something I like. It looks like a Boy
Scout Badge or something. I don’t know what it is but
I like it.

That middle piece is broken. I think I will glue it back
together.

Thanks for lOOking to see what makes a short hunt better.

Glad you were able to get out for awhile. Hope all goes well at the Doc..Not sure what it is but kinda reminds me of the Phoenix....I also like finding things but I gotta force myself out into the heat...

Seems like I remember having one of those as a kid. :icon_scratch: I think it was a gift from an organization. You send them a donation and they'd send you the pendant. Something along those lines...it's been a long time since I was a kid. :P :D Of course I could be way wrong. ;D

Neat find!

I'm no expert but could it be a representation of a thunderbird? Whatever it is, its got enigmatic coolness. :icon_scratch:

Thunderbirds like the one you found were used on keyrings around 30-40 years ago, given to donors by an organization for aid to American Indian children.

I actually had one of those on a chain that I wore back in the 70s. It represents a thunderbird. I think I got it when I was on vacation with my family in N.M. or Arizona.

I remember the Thunderbird too, think my Grandmother had one for a key chain or maybe it was for something else, but I do remember one being up there on the farm. The black thing in the middle of your pic is a shoulder pad connector for a pair of shoulder pads. The strap is laced through the metal piece and then the clip in the pic is snapped into the slot on the breast plate on each side, securing the pads. Just something a fb coach would notice. LOL, there must be some football played on that property.

nice find, what does it say on the back? I found one about a month ago very similar, the back says "with thanks from the american indian children" yours seems to be in better shape though, HH all

I have also found one of those recently.

Those Indians must be rich by now!

I know ya have, but...........Ever heard of the Seminole Hard Rock?
I think they lay claim to half my future grandchildrens "college" fund.

And all I got was a sweet keychain!!!

Nice find.

Nice Thunderbird, TD.

You're a better archeologist than Indiana Jones! ;D

Hay Thanks Everybody.

It is a Thunder Bird for sure.

It's is a sign of power to a lot of Indian nations.

I think it's cool. I just love finding something old

and then learning something new.

It's the same on both sides. No writing.

It used to have a loop at top, but it broke off.

I just like it. Think I'll glue it to a bright background

Just like it is.

Happy Hunting,

Tabdog
