Think it would be fun to do a video during my Florida trip in august.
Not thinking professional, just for fun.
What GoPro should I get?
How do you edit it?
How much more is there to it?

There are youtube videos on how to do youtube videos. Lots of choices on GoPros, just depends on how much you want to spend and lots of videos on how to operate them.

I assume that means you'll be detecting on the beach... You'll find the process trickier than you think. Lots of potential weather, lighting, and audio issues to deal with when you're outside. Sometimes, in the bright sun, just making sure the camera is pointing in the right spot is a chore. Check out long-time Treasurenet member BuckleboyLA on YouTube. He has been doing videos for a long time out in the old cane fields in Louisiana. His vids are pretty low key as he hunts and digs. Then he closes the video with a presentation and explanation of the finds. IMO he does a nice job.

Also, be sure there is someone with you who is slower than you are, sharks usually attack the slower moving target.

I have seen sharks cruising the surf where the waves break, but not THAT close!

I have a Hero 8 Black and from what I understand you are saying it will be more than adequate.
Also since you will be at the beach get a polarizing filter.
