UPDATE........Bullet Count

Hey all, 11/23/2012

I posted yesterday and said that it was the best day hunting for me to date.....well today blew that out of the water.

We found what we believe is the main area of the skirmish or battle at this site......untouched virgin site.....when we found an insane amount of .58 3 ring bullets.

My total this morning alone is 44!!!!!

My brother found 31this morning!!!!

Brings our grand total from yesterday to today...........93!!!!!!!

YES.......93

I will post the videos tomorrow...I will make it one combined video.

Here is a picture of my bullets...cleaned and my brothers....not so clean yet.

UPDATE........BULLET COUNT
UPDATE.........BULLET COUNT

Ok we went out this morning and picked up where we left off from yest yesterday.

I found....39 more bullets, one is flat and spread out like a misshapen pancake. Also found a decorative pin.

My brother found 18 more......

TOTAL....150:hello2::hello2::hello2:

I have one more day tomorrow to hunt until the next time I come up to visit my folks.

Also, my brother and I have been doing a lot of research and have found out some information on the area and know now, for certain, that this was an area that a large skirmish and other skirmishes took place.
We found the name of the Col. in charge of the union troops as well as more battle ground areas right near here.....that have most likely been untouched do to there remote location and terrain.

Ok, I have put up the pictures of todays finds down below the 2 pictures of yesterdays finds.

NOTICE the one bullet on the bottom right picture at the bottom left of the bullets....its as flat as a pancake!!!!!

Here is Day 1 Video:

Here is Day 2...THE BEST DAY EVER....

Pays to do the research!!!!

Will keep all of you updated.

TOP 2 Pics are Day 1 Finds
BOTTOM 2 Pics are Todays Finds

This was a Civil War skirmish. We can't find out any written record of this fight as of yet.
We are looking as we speak.
Site is in northern VA.

Thanks....I still can't believe the amount we pulled out.

We haven't even scratched the surface. There is a lot of land to cover.

As we were heading back to the house I kept getting more good targets but we decided to leave then for tomorrow.

We hope to break 200 by tomorrow night.

Our goal as well for tomorrow is to find some. CW buttons and coinage......

Site is ******.

Ssssssshhhh about the location, keep it to your self or you will find the Archies taking it from you. Do research, but don't tell any one why you are researching. That's what I would do anyway or not do.

I hope you are using a GPS to plot where you make these finds. You could establish the lines of battle, and expand that to find other hotspots associated with it.

I am plotting all my finds and it has helped me establish the lines and the areas of conflicts.
That is one of the main reasons I love the CTX is the GPS and plot with overlay to Google Earth feature.

Congratulations!
You also have the honor of writing/documenting the site. Between your GPS coordinates and CSI visualization you can reconstruct the event for prosperity. All this, of course, after you have reaped your fill. Your spoils, don't spoil them.
Banner potential for sure!
