I Took it The Clergyman playd a Trick on the Kids (young Lovers)
& Sent them to Town for a Certificate to be Married. (Sort of like Sending for a Left Hand Wrench or Blinker Fluid) But the Guy who Saw them & Charged Them 37 cents got the :Last Laugh ! & 37 Cents
Yes it statred as a April Fools on the Kids,
However There is an outside Chance it was also a April Fools Joke on their Readers , However The Wife's Involvment Says to me it could have Happenend as the article says
