My question is about how and where do you clean your finds? Do you clean them in the kitchen or do you have a set up place? I am tryin to work up a new way of doin it and could use some Ideas based on how other clean finds? If you have a cool cleaning station take a pic and post it. I think that this is something that hasn't been touched on much.

...................................Out in the garage is the the first step then too the kitchen sink.................................

It's funny you should ask ;D. . . I was denied access to the kitchen sink last week
by the wife and sent to the laundry tub in the basement. :P

Currently, the slop sink in the basement...the wife hates when I call it the 'slop' sink.

I have plans of finishing the basement and building a little office/hobby room for myself. Then it will move into there. The plan is to make a desk out of formica countertops in a 'U' shape with a small sink cut into one side. A place to do paperwork/bills, research and cleaning recovered items. My own little man cave. Grant it most of the basement will be turned into a play area for the kids but I will have my own little space.

There is a question that has alot of clout.
I got one word for you - forensics...(private companies around)

Be careful about the microbiological dangers of the Black death and Smallpox.
Other disease found near corpses is also questionable.
We are on the lookout for a good answer to this question...not where to clean, but how?
What special cleaning products are available, and where is there an Edu or other group with the good answer to this.

Hoang Ho Consulting Treasure/recycle division is purposefully passing up on large cache potential because we "don't like the smell of it".
Some caches were buried for hiding away til later, and some were buried after the tomb was robbed because someone caught it and died, or they used the insane and diseased to bury it and they killed them and tossed them in.

Stay away from these if you can.

We have a plant that is good for a wash, or a coating of the plant mixed with oil if there is any doubt.
Good way to get a divorce is to bring something too smelly in the house. We reccomend buckets and bleach or ammonia type solutions for the questionable ones, outside.

lol...me too. Many years ago I was in Mesa AZ and I get out of my car and a few friendly dogs come looking for handouts. I had no food but being an dog person I took a few minutes to play around with them. I walk into the building and there is a big sign saying not to touch the animals since they may have Hantavirus...oh great. There were also warnings about bubonic plague. I'm still around so I guess I didn't catch anything.

PS Twomtns has taken this way of course...lets get back to cleaning stations minus the Department of Disease Control stuff...no outbreaks here.

yeap i use the kitchen sink and the old ladys toothbrush :laughing7:

Does anyone have a setup like N.J.THer(if so could you post a pic) talked about in his post? I currently too use the old kitchen sink, Lots of dirt goes down the drain. Thanks to everyone who posted It seems there is some reoccurring themes here of wives and anger/disgruntlement but that may be a coincidence.
