Garda half box #53: skunk

My Garda boxes have been really bad. 53 boxes and only 7-40%. Box #16, #42, and #43 each had one and box #35 had four. Six Garda boxes this year have all been skunks. When do you call it quits on a source. I guess we all wrestle with this question. I guess I keep hoping eventually the person dumping into Garda will stop or the tellers/processors who are culling will move on and things might turn around. If the previous gaps are a pattern, then I should be seeing some silver soon. Weather has been bad, so I don't feel confident my half boxes got delivered. I have another Garda box I could pickup...yeah.

That does sound like pretty slim picken's from your Garda boxes. Good thing u had a great Brinks box last week to help make up for those boxes. Hope we both get more great boxes like your 3% keeper box and my 2% keeper box.

I like the new box reference. So a dream box is a 10% keeper box. I hope my Brinks boxes come in. HH

I suppose 10% is what's generally considered a dream box but I'd sure much rather get a great box like Apush had last week with 65 x 90% and 10 x 40% than a box with 100 x 40% keepers. I haven't done the exact math but her 7.5% keeper box had a lot more silver than a 10% keeper box of all 40% keepers. But I'd sure be happy with either lol.

Good luck with your next Brinks boxes. I have two more String boxes ordered from the same bank I got the nice 20 keeper box on Monday. Hope we can both can keep the silver flowing in March.

Better than nothing...slow start to march, but February was so good it's tough to go back to a trickle of silver.

Garda Half box. #54: skunk

I did four boxes of halves this week and only found 1 keeper. I plan on doing four more next week and then the week after I will do some bank hopping while I am out of town. Hopefully, I'll get another score.

Brinks half box #36: 1-walker, 1-64, 5-40% plus a 2012p that I needed for my NIFC collection

I am real excited to find a walker in a box. This is my third walker from boxes. 1.5ozt of silver is nice to see. So, March has picked up the pace with 9 keepers so far. One more box and then a road trip next week.

thats great man, id rather get that then the 10 40% i got... i see your stats say you got a 1998 eagle, like the silver bullion? at a bank? that would be cool lol if some one was dumb anough to do it for a buck

I keep asking for big dollars but haven't found an ASE in the wild. The 1998 and the morgan were gifts from my mother inlaw after I told her about my CRH hobby. So, it was free silver that I wouldn't have gotten if I wasn't doing crhunting (perhaps a stretch).

It was real nice to see a couple of 90% in the box. HH

Good box and congrats on the Walker. Now we've both found a '44 Walker this month. I got two boxes myself today that I'm slowing searching. No silver so far in the first box. I hope I can find a little silver at least. Good luck to both of us on our second boxes.

Yes...others have reported about getting a silver eagle in a teller tray for $1. That would be a nice score.

A couple bits of silver from my first out of town coin roll hunt. Did about 18 banks...nothing special or of note. I'll keep trying throughout the week.

$160 cwr: 1-40%
$25 loose: 1-40%

$33 loose halves: 1-40%

I did another 15 banks. The loose production was discouraging until a bright 1968 clunked on the counter at the 11th bank. One of the CWR's had three 40% and the others were spread out.

Looks like another pretty good day...esp from just $203. I've only found 7 40% from customer halves so far this year myself. But I just noticed it looks like we're pretty even so far this year with our half dollar totals. And I finally broke my 6 box skunk streak tonight with a single 40% in my first of two boxes I got today. That's the first silver half Ive found in a box since my 20 keeper box on March 3rd, so finding even just one silver sure was a nice sight.

Seems like you've done pretty good so far with your out of town hunting. I think I might do a bank run sometime soon myself and check out some banks in another town near me that I've never been to. Well, good luck the rest of your trip.
