I think the Sheriff said that the metal detector was like a long pipe that was pulled above the snow, 10'or 20' long (must be PVC). That would cover a lot of ground and I'm sure it must be a deep seeking type made for just that purpose. They have a good idea of what happend to them. They may have fallen into the gully they've been talking about.

They called it quits today. They surmised that they may have gotten blown down the "Gullies"

Supposed to be experienced climbers but weren't equiupped for cold weather, makes you wonder? Heard they may close peaks to climbing in the winter because of this. Too bad for their families, Monty.
