Ducky do you have any of that punch plate left? How's your little sluice doing?
The punch plate is all used up. Sent some out to some other TNet members. There will be more that will come along but no telling when. Whenever the company buys more server racks and decides to scrap them.

The am sluice is working well after I dug out some of the excess plastic in the riffles. It just doesn't move a lot of material which is why I'm looking at the garret super sluice pan

Ducky, glad to hear that your dad is doing better. Sucks that we
only get to keep them for so long, so fwiw spend every bit of
time you can with them.

I've also got a Super Sluice, and as said it's a real pig of a pan.
I use it to get rid of all the blond material when I'm out sampling
areas of beach sand, and then bring the black sand only home
to process further.

Trick with it is to work it underwater, and let the buoyancy of
the pan in the water do a lot of the "holding up" work. Using it
right you can really work through a bucket of material in a short
time, saving the heavies to another container. It stinks as a finishing
pan, however...the way the bottom is designed I just can't get the
water to move right.

So my mom wants to go gold prospecting for her birthday and we are going up to crisson gold mine in dahlonega. I saw you can rent equipment. Am I allowed to use my own pans and sluice there? My internet is down and I can't view it on my phone for some reason. Quick responses appriciated

At the crisson gold mine you just buy crushed quartz sands to go through no creek or anything

sort of
in Dahlonega no,in Georgia yes
heres the website for a place called gold n gems, theres gold here but the creek has been fairly heavily worked
on the other hand they stack paydirt from the commercial mine they run there(largest in Georgia as of now)
it is NOT much for gold, but it has beautiful gemstones

On the way home from a wonderful day in dahlonega. We went to the crisson mine and bought a 5gallon bucket and 2 of the $45 cons. Will post pics of the cleaned up gold tomorrow most likely. Good haul, although most certainly did not get our money back. It was fun teaching my mom and the rest of my family how to pan. Went to the smith house for dinner. If you don't know what it is, google it! A must eat place if you visit. At the general store I purchased a MONSTER of a metal gold pan. I was going to buy a super sluice but no one had them in stock around here. Looking forward to jawing it. A great $10 investment. Pics to come! Here's the pan. That's a nickel in the center.

Guys Please take a moment to read and take note. All donation appreciated, you can donate as little or as much as you want.

My wife, Amber, has decided to participate in the Walk for Life. This is a fundraiser to help the Pregnancy Resource Center in our hometown, Douglasville GA. Feel free to click the link and sponsor her as she walks. Amber is walking for all of our children, but especially our angel in heaven, Joanna. Please also share the page with others via Facebook or other social media. This Resource center has already saved more than 690 at risk babies this year alone! Thank you for your donation.
