Can anyone provided some Equinox TID numbers on various Civil War Relics you have found? Also the depths that you recovered them from?
I am starting to hunt Civil War battle and camp ground sites here in Georgia.
Much appreciated.
I think most of the Equinox users agree pull tabs, pop tops, bottle caps, can slaw, and especially round aluminum wine bottle caps are a bane to us.
So if you have leaned some good techniques that help ID these pesky items on your 600 or 800 please share them here.
I did't like the narrow 40...
This is my second post in the last 24 hours. Old buyer fell through so it’s back on the market (I couldn’t mark the old post unsold).
I have a like new Equinox 600 for sale. Lightly used in the last year about 3 times. Only thing “wrong” with it is the charger plastic chipped when trying to...
New Equinox Update 2.0 Coming?
This Is what i've seen:
" Based on the data received from Equinox users from around the world, some software adjustments were made to improve the operation of the basic functions of the device. In addition, smoother backlighting has been made possible for the...
So I just bought a new Minelab Equinox 800. My first time out was definitely a challenge. I was hunting with a Minelab Xterra 705. I had a lot of jumpy signals, nothing that I am accustomed to hearing from the xterra. I'm sure it's a learning curve. I documented my first hunt on youtube, maybe...
Hi, my father and I both have an Equinox 800.
My father bought the 15" coil and he's away for a few days, so i'm thinking of trying it out on the beach.
My question is not about more coverage, but depth.
Is the 15" coil truly much deeper than the standard Equinox coil on the beach?
I will be...
Love my Equinox 800.
BUT....getting tired of it Identifying practically everything as a good target!!!!!
I know the CTX is wayyyy better, wayyy more expensive and i wouldn't get one for numerous reasons, mainly the crap screen and weight.
BUT....check out one example of what i mean here...
My wife worked for Intel for many years. I remember back in the late 1970’s she brought home a chart that predicted the micro processing power for their chip line for the next 30 years. It was a steady upward curve from the old early pc chip the 8088. Guess what, it was almost dead on the money...
Finally got the family out metal detecting with me. Our schedules are always so busy it is rare that we get the time set aside to do this. That was nice.
This was my first permission hunt. My in-laws have several acres that used to be part of a sugar cane plantation. I didn't find anything...
For Sale - Minelab Equinox 600 Metal Detector. Used 6-8 times last year. Like New. Upgraded to latest software. Everything included. Gently used. I'll include a printed version of the manual (as they have you download it from the web site). $595. I want to upgrade to the 800 so I'm letting...
I agree with the hype statement by smokey his post. This past Feb and Mar of 2018 I really got caught up in the Equinox hype (and boy was there a lot of hype on the forums and on youtube). So I sold my AT Pro and purchased an Nox 800.
what a surprise I was in for. Had no idea that it had such a...
I have read where several Equinox owners with the 15 x 12 inch coil reporting over all not so good results with the coil use in the default settings. A number owners have said you must use recovery speeds 5 or below and 4 seems to be the best.
Why is that? Just the nature of larger coils?
I have read where some hunters noise cancel with the coil on the ground to get a better reading from the ground. Any thoughts on this technique? Anyone using this method for noise canceling.
The theory being that better you ground balance and noise cancel along with lowering the sensitivity the...
I have owned the 800 since March of this year with the intention of starting to do more civil war relic and old home site hunting. I was under the impression before I purchased my 800 that it was really good at picking through junk targets that masked coins, 3 ringers etc. But maybe people were...
here is my limited understanding of coils.
Concentric coil search pattern is cone shaped with the point being at the deepest.
They are good for pinpointing deep targets.
But it seems that if you have a coin at the point of the cone and trash in the wider upper coin you have a problem with...
I came from 3 years using an AT Pro. So the audio term "flutly" is not well understood by me. After the update on my 800 some things have seemed to have changed for the better.
hunting today at a permission I have hunted twice before the update, I noticed that all my clad coins came in with a...
I came from three years of hunting with the AT Pro and many hours on other mid-ranged price detectors. I now have about 30 hours on the Equinox 800 and on any given day after a hunt I am about ready to sell the 800 and buy another AT Pro. But I find myself out there 2-3 days later hunting with...
Was out Tuesday playing with some different settings on a machine. Went off to an area I had not visited in a while. Been a while since I've seen one of these but second target out was another bird band. Around 6" or so. Reported the recovery and had the certificate the next day. The online...
Amazon sales of at max vs equinox 600 and 800
Here are some interesting stats. Keep in mind these only represent a fraction of the metal detector sales since most come through dealers outside of Amazon. As an amazon seller I have access to tools to show unit sales of most amazon items for...
