1700s Chinese coin buttons coins more hello everyone hope you're all out swinging I know I have been we've been hitting it hard up here the brambles dying back the fields are opening up you're able to swing in the woods yesterday we had a long day in the woods with Bartek and myself
My very first target was the 1700s Chinese coin quickly followed by a whole pile of all the stuff we got King George musketball relics I got a 1858 toasted eagle. The only part you can see is the date lol Also an 1840s hard times token I can't seem to identify it says in "weighed in the balance and found wanting "
any help would be great thank you happy hunting and good luck

The biggest theme I see from Saturday is most found coins. This is an inspiring thought. I was out yesterday and found a lot of burnt zinc pennies. Congrats!

Nice finds. I found a few references to the token. It appears to be a Henry Clay token issue, I found one reference to it as a Rulau-HT-A800, and another at 807, but my Rulau catalog does not have any Hard Times tokens anywhere near that high of a number. I found several other references including this auction lot with pics, https://new.liveauctioneers.com/item/530216_martin-van-buren-campaign-token-1840-front-bust and a issue of The Numismatist that references it and gives some history https://books.google.com/books?id=SThOAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA135&lpg=PA135&dq=weighed+in+the+balance+and+found+wanting+token&source=bl&ots=mlt3gH1cE8&sig=TwKy8egX-2LShifK5RjEjhIN8mI&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjtufuwtN_PAhVj74MKHSdeDIYQ6AEIMDAD#v=onepage&q&f=false .

Sweet finds Charlie, that Chinese coins was a good omen. The hard times token is sweet. Looks like you had a great hunt with Bartek.
