Got out today with Mom and Ben at the spot and had a fairly good day. Started out looking for arrowheads for about 20 minutes came up with the black one first. And later on picked up the old stone one. Meandered around our beat up fields and made it back to the one I found the KGII Farthing. Well I found another Irish coin and it came out of the sandy part of the field so Its in decent shape! After the KG I found a button with a nipple. Im hoping its what I think it is but Ill let you guys chime in. I also found another "Button" front which I think is from the same time period but this one is sans nipple. Ive seen them found with shipwreck coins so Im fairly certain it is 18th or 17th century. Also found a ton of wheaties, A Hoppalong Cassidy Token and a few more buttons. The silver pieces are cool also. The spoon/fork handle is engraved with "H" or "K". The finds are really becomming scarce on these fields and half are planted with Wheat so this they may be done for this year. Thanks for looking!

Jim, you are continuing to find the oldies! Decent KGII Irish, my last coin find in the spring (and for the year) was a KGIII Irish. The nipple-like button is a good find.

Thanks guys. Im guessing late 18th century on the buttons. The one resembles half of a blow hole button with only one blowhole. Who knows there were 2 blowhole buttons found along with the 2 irish coins and pieces of shoe buckles so 1760-1790s make sense.

You South Jersey folk are killin' it!

Hibernia it is, nice

Congrats on a great hunt a great mix of Colonial goodies!!!!!!

The nipple buttons are 17th C. (although the construction of yours looks a little different)

PS. Looked again, they are 2 piece 18th C.(tops of)

Nice assortment of finds ,awesome score !

Nice finds Jim. Those fields have been good to you guys and will continue to be good even as the quantity of finds diminish. I agree with Cru, those are the fronts of mid 18th century 2 piece buttons. If you dug any concave buttons, you may have the back half.

It's definitely an engraved "K" on that silver item? What is that--a ring made from a spoon? Just out of curiosity what is a "blow hole" button? I take it the "nipple button" is the tombac button with the nipple on the dome.

Jim,
Cool finds as usual, I for one would like to see ALL the finds to come outta that field..............It would be amazing to see them altogather.......HH
