I went back to the woods where I found my 1899 Barber Quarter yesterday for a quick hunt, and when my coil passed over this thing, it registered 06-47/ 07-49 on the E-trac. My heart was pumping as I thought it was going to be my first half (as it was down about 8 inches).

Well, it wasn't a first half for me, but it was a first vehicle tax plate. I still think it's a pretty cool find. I still have to hit this area hard as wheaties from the teens are still popping out. Where is that dang half hiding though? :icon_scratch:

Congrats on that really cool piece of automobile history !!!!

Doesn't look like it is actually for an automobile....."Two Horse Wagon"!

That's what I was thinking......... 2 horse wagon ??? 2 HP station wagon ;D Just kidding. Looks like a tax plate for a horse drawn wagon

Yes congrats on the cool finds!

Sweet, looks similar to the bike tag I found in South Bend. Nice one... jgas
