found this about two weeks ago didnt want to post without testing the silver. acid test came out creamy cloudy and this is an awesome thing. very heavy for its size, found in an old feild that i thaught was worked out.I have pulled 1812 seminole war button outta this place what gets me is that its not marked, but test 925 or better
WOW this is great ive waited a long time to post on this site have been reading for a long time. now everyone who thinks there isnt anymore real treasure, feast your eyes. the vdi was a steady 93 silver dollar, very strong signal found this while detecting with my 10 year old neice she was totaly freakin and so was I!!!!!

UPDATED:10/6/09 had bar appraised today 500.00 not sure of purity but its SILVER
WOW going to enter the best of 2009 western and eastern treasures contest... this is
AWESOME!!!!!!

10-21-09 had bar xrf tested and its 85 percent lead,,,sorry for mishap needed test to be sure.....thanks....

It looks like it silver, have to wonder why its not marked. Maybe a handmade job :dontknow:

Plus how do you lose something like that........oops I just dropped my silver bar, where is it... oh there it is embedded in my foot :laughing7:

I love silver & that would be a very cool piece in anyones collection, pretty much a find of your detecting career :icon_thumright:

i wondered the same thing? i tested the dang thing 6 times just to make sure.
only GOD knows why certain things happen???yes it was smelted by hand.....

Wow, that's a real nice find there. I am still looking into buying my first detector and seeing posts like this get me real excited to get out there and get started. You got my vote on a banner find. Way to go!

ive used alot of detectors and have found things with even an old vlf detector
but will have to say that the xlt spectrum is a fine machine. but remember any machine you use, you have to learn it .plus you can have the best of the best but if you havent learned the history of were you live.and find some of the older stuff plus you have to seek to find. good luck if you enjoy the hobbie then its rewarding nomatter what you find.

this ingot was about 7-8 inches deep

found on land at a very old part of town not far from were a fort used to be.
