Had an outstanding day today. In only a 90 minute hunt at my grandparents property this afternoon, I found 2 silver quarters(my first silver quarters!); a nice mercury dime, and a nice silver Rosey. Also found some clad (including 2 Wheaties); an old key; some what-zits (not pictured); and a nice old ring, which I need to clean up and study. Hope everyone had a great day. Thanks for reading, and Happy Hunting!!!!

Wow, what a great hunt! Love the key, too. You must have been on more fertile ground than we were. We hunted an old farm house Saturday and the only coin we found in 2 hours was a 1974 Lincon. :'(

Love the key! You should research it and see how old it is...It looks to be very old!

The key was actually found about 4 inches down, on my aunt's property which is circa late 1700's/early 1800's. I searched their property well, and only found clad, that key, an old ring, and a few whatzits. I'm guessing that maybe some years ago, somebody detected it, OR there just happened to be no old coins in that yard...which I find to be very unlikely.

I cleaned up the ring, and its pretty cool, but I don't think its silver or gold. maybe brass or copper? It still has some permanent patina on it (due to being in the ground so long); but you're right - it does have alot of character. Basically the outside band consisits of small flowers going all the way around. I'll try to post pics later tonight.
