Leather punch may have been used as a wad cutter...looks to be about the right size... :icon_scratch:

Wad cutter it is.Found a site that had a pic that matched up with my piece. It also gave a short description.Gonna try and clean mine to check for markings.

DESCRIPTION: Steel wad cutter for cutting out wads for a musket. Possible Civil War era. Has a break in one of the arms which can be seen in the photo. Stamped on the stem is 10 STEEL. Not many of these seen around.
