Major milestone at that same big park in S.F. Dug my 500Th Roosevelt silver dime! It is a 1954-D. Believe me, it took along time to get to 500. First one dug was in 1986. Also got a 1937-D merc. wheat pennies were also dug, a total of 6. Total silver coins out of this area is 13, total wheat pennies are now up to 56! Silver coins #21 & #22 for 2011.!

This part of the park is known by all the locals. Can't believe the amount of coins still in the ground. Total clad out of here is about $42.00 in six Saturdays of hunting!

Still have all of them! I have them all in 2" x 2" coin holders with the date and place found recorded. Wow! at $2.35 each that's about $1,200.00!

WOW man ~ that is a great milestone! CONGRAT'S!!! But . . . . How long until you've got 500 Merc dimes?!

I'm at about 220 Rosie's and 190 Merc's, and only 20 Barber dimes! Been detecting since 1993 . . . . but really only got serious about 6 or 7 years ago.

Keep going at this rate and you will have to hire a kid to help carry it all to the bank . :)
This must be a great park with a whole lot of people going there to find so many coins .

Congrats on the milestone.

Good luck on reaching your Merc milestone. I have found more mercs than rosies over the course of my 30+ years. Not sure why that is, must have to do with the age of the locations we hunt? Regardless, 500 of any type of silver dime is something to be proud of.

Keep 'em coming !!!

A very respectable milestone indeed! :headbang:

Down here in So. Cal., I've got a running total of 689 Rosies and 662 Mercs. since Feb. 2007 (I didn't detect from July '09 - July '10 due to a bad fibromyalgia flareup). 98% of my dimes were found in Los Angeles parks (nearly 100 different parks), with a small handful from local beaches. All were found with a Minelab SE. I've been averaging about 2 hunts per week since being able to swing my coil again in July- '10. Back in '07, I was averaging 3-4 hunts per week.

I did get a chance to detect GGP back in '07. It sure is a great park! I pulled 13 silvers out of that park in a day and a half. Most were from the Big Rec area.

Congrats again, Mike! :icon_thumright:
