Well, I dont think I would go that high LOL  Great coin!!  However, extra fine??? I would give it every bit of VF-20, Maybe VF-30.

I would grade this coin VF30 maybe a point or two higher.
Its hard to grade from a picture....
List value $ 100.00 - $ 150.00
A cleaned coin is always worth a bit less than an uncleaned coin but for a dug coin.....

Great coin !!!

I agree with the grade above. This coin doesn't appear cleaned. I don't see any signs of field-cleaning either. And as far as dug coins go, I've seen uncirculated silver coins come out of the ground (if they aren't field or "spit" cleaned!) looking just as nice as coins of the same grade that were never lost. Congrats on a great find!

Re: a first for me a 1831 bust dime

First of all AWESOME find....Textbook Fine-15....Nice find and avoid the temptation of cleaning. For the coin to go VF-20 or better, it needs two-thirds of the hair to show on the obverse and nearly all the feathers will show on the reverse. Stronger than a F-12, not quite in the VF range
