Folks,
Here are my finds for the whole week, three hunts total. Today was my best hunt of the three:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgCGaqtufjk
I detected a small old house after work today and found:

*A men's 14K gold ring with three small diamonds (real?). It weighs 5 grams and is stamped "14K Starfire".

*A small gold :icon_scratch: pocket watch. The casing looks like gold and came out of the ground clean like gold usually does. Hopefully it's real.

*A small old ring with a tiny green stone and stamped "14 D" inside. Any ideas?

Other finds for the week were:
*A Wm. Roger's silver plated fork.

*1907 IH - bent. :(

*Wheats - oldest was a 1918.

*A nice CW era brass buckle

*Lead RR seal

*The cr-ppiest class ring ever made. Gold plated junk metal. The ring only says "High School" ;D :tongue3: :tard:

*Four leaf clover - found by my son walking the dog. ;D

* "H. Swett -Wake Forest" brass name plate. (circa 1930-1950)

*A large solid brass ball. Top of post???

*Asst'd other goodies.

Thanks for looking,
MM

Nice finds, Doug. Especially the men's ring and the watch. From what I can see, I'd bet the watch is real gold. Well Done.

I don't blame you for not showing them the gold

Thanks G4E.
I have to keep some things for my efforts. I've been giving so many relics away that my own collection hasn't been growing too much.

Sweet digs Doug, love that gold huh, congrats!!
I think I will be getting out this summer some, maybe not as much as a couple years ago but hopefully I can get the time to pillage a few schoolyards.
Smiles!

BDoo,
It was a welcome sight to see a reply from you. I hope you and the family are doing great, and the poetry is going well.
I would LOVE to see you posting some of your famous playground hunts again. You were the king. :icon_king:
Every time I hit a playground buddy I think of you and the cover of W & ET.
Thanks Bobby,
Doug

MM, NICE haul! I love the tiny pocket watch, did you get any more info off of it after cleaning her up? The Guys think I should be looking for those gold rings instead of my rusty relics............ :-\

Hey I found the other half of your dentures last week, I'll send them along if you like? :D I promise I'll brush 'em up for you first. :D

Ha, ha, ha. Those teeth were the first thing I spotted in your picture. No need to brush them if you send them to me. I'm thinking about having my dentures gold or silver plated to give my smile a real shine. :tongue3: :icon_jokercolor:
I run the gold watch through my ultrasonic machine yesterday. I may have to gut the insides if I can, and just leave the case and face intact. If it turns out NOT to be gold I still want to be able to display it in one of my relic displays. It sure looks like gold (14k) though.
