And........Its done. Mission complete

I think the family made a big mistake not using a treasure hunter for their research. A good Thunter wouldn't need such a large costly learning curve. Why they were against it is their business. It just seems to me that It'll take a lot longer for anything at all to be found. The treasure they discovered is their own family history along with Travis's after death wealth. I think the treasure hunt was over when RG discovered all that property in the storage unit.

Now that we have a taste of what really happened behind the scenes it only proves more of what we already know.
Travis was a buffoon, a shyster, and not a very nice person. Who could believe anything he had or wrote?

I'm not saying his story is not a very good read that is if you like fictional productions. I would've watched the show for the history and wild interplay. He did have an interesting life. I for one would jump at the chance to help in solving his maps for nothing in return as I've done for so many others. I've even financed a few myself. The hunt along side people that look out for each other is all I ever need. I give my two cents and advise when I think it's useless or it's not worth dying for. I've never charged a dime for my services nor have I asked for any percentages. Treasure Hunters are a rare breed and most are honest. Some you may have to look out for. Travis was one of those.

It's like Forest Fenn but worse. No accountability for Travis. Perhaps he was the first Fenn in a sense, but a lot of people wasted a lot of time chasing his fabrications. At least the modern day Fenn appears honest about his treasure.

that forest fenn has ruined thousands of lives....and it aint over yet

My hero! Blake the GPR man. I think this whole incident would make a great episode of American Greed. Start with TT and work up to good old Blake.

I had a producer from the Legend show call to run a idea past me for a series. I suggested the naked prospector with pop corn girls. The TT thing is way better. Folks with gapping butt holes are lining up. Stuff I heard would curl your hair.

At least the Fenn stash is real, unlike the balderdash of the LDM, PSM, et al. Thousands? A few maybe, but those folks made their own decisions, as do all who engage in activities that come with no guarantees. I know the world is turning into a nanny state for all, but if I want to do something risky, then I'll be responsible for my own decisions - not blame someone else if I fu.

Hey Bill ! Bring the popcorn , starts the Mission Impossible #5 . Leave that guy for the production assistant .

Howdy Treasure Hunters,
How do you plan to have any time searching with that one or those three? I'd leave the other "person" with the assistants also!!!

The top two will do for now. Put your pants back on

You have to be a true boner, I mean stoner, to hunt for Treasure with those four!

Archeology is an art you have to become Indiana Bone! I mean Jones, geez, I keep getting that wrong!

I'll put my pants back on so I can go out hunting with those four. I have a secret weapon though, I carry a bottle of paint remover and a jiffy popper in my backpack!

Hello Lydia,

Haven't read every post on this so might be redundant;

Did you personally witness the recently dug out hole where the stolen (x2)
treasure was supposedly excavated? 3 foot deep +?

Hope all is well with you.

it's a treasure, but it's not a treasure?

I've heard back from one of the two people that I asked to look at Ryan's GPR video.
Still waiting to hear from the other gentleman .

Given Travis' employment at a major mine (Magma ?), I'm surprised no one has suggested a high grading "racket" as a possible source of the 26,000 something that was listed in his accounts. Being topside, and tending the mules used at the mine, he would have been in a good position to control and benefit from such a scheme. It has already been said that he made a number of trips to Mexico during the time he was accumulating his cash, cars etc. , with the implication that he was selling (fencing) stuff down there.

“HIGH GRADING AT TONOPAH.” The arrest of four men for high grading took place at Tonopah last Friday morning as the men were coming off shift at the McNamara mine. The men arrested are William Turner, vice president of the Tonopah miners' union; Tom Conifrey, Tom Cunningham and Patrick Flanigan. They were caught with the rich ore concealed upon their persons, and it is said that nearly a wagonload of ore was recovered from the residences of the high graders. These men have been suspected for a long time, and Friday morning the entire shift was held up and searched. All were lodged in the county jail, and two of them have since given bail. It is announced that they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
