Nice ring indeed. These rings had a cloth patch in them so they could absorb perfume or another nice aroma. Back in the day the sanitary conditions in the cities were very bad and the smell just as bad. when the ladies with rings like this came across stench they would open the ring and take a whif of the pleasant odor.

Whoa! Never seen one like that before except in the movies. Nice find. Some CIA agent must have misplaced it.
