I'm just trying to find out what kind of ground is around Culpepper, since I'll be up in that area visiting friends soon. Is it moderate, or heavily mineralized (hot) ground? I only have room for one of my detectors and need to know if I need to bring the MXT or if the Tesoro Cibola will do.

TIA,
Bill W.

I have NOT hunted Culpepper but have hunted other nearby counties in NoVa. I have not found high mineralization except in some isolated spots. I use a Minelab.

Good luck.

Yes, I hunt Culpeper and it is kind of hit or miss on being "hot" Sorry I can't give you more of a definitive answer. It is hotter near the southern part of the county near Orange.

Sqzdog, your answer actually makes a lot of sense and tells me to bring the MXT with my extra coils. Thanks !!!
