Sweet pics OD, gonna be a fun one to follow.

Weather and attitude permitting,
I think it is going to be one of the most detailed chases yet.
The guy who did these signs was an artist.

Thanks GG.
We are grateful for all prayers and good thoughts.

Rj,
The detail is what caught me right off.
Knew I would have to follow this one out, Just because of it.

Beautiful photos, Lost Horse. In the one of the Shadow Face, is that a large "M" carved into the rock directly across the gorge from the man's upper lip or some natural fracturing?

Thank You Lost Horse, thanks for the post and the explanation, do you feel that the direction and what you will find also with the distance, since they are faces only ( no body ) does that indicate one direction only,since theres three ( 3 ) does that have anything to do with anything or is there 3 trails involved. Thanks

you have a small rectangular rock wedged between two bolders. I have seen this a few times. Is there a significance to it?

If that stone is used as a sighting platform,
The focus is on the pointer almost out of sight in the shadow of the trees.

And so the trail goes on ..."mas alla" (further on)

After a short study of the photo of the owl hoyo
here is the result .
A turtle with a heart shaped shell
and directions on his back in the form of chain trail
(chain trails are dots or drill holes strung together with lines to an objective.)
They give direction and distance
Dots = 100
Circles =200
Circles with a dot in the center =300
Always measured in varas
in the picture the destination area is marked with a circle.
(this trail will get you to the area but not on the mark
There are further instructions ahead.

Let me see what solid info I can dig out about chain trails.
I'm sure they have been discussed before, but rehashing a good thing is always a good thing .
Especially if the thread has passed into oblivion.
