Bergie&Earthworks Excellent (Colonial) Adventure

Earthworks wanted to go home and veg out on the couch, but I said come on bee-atch, let's go find some colonial stuff.

Earthworks and I hit the Colonial site for about two hours tonight until dark, a place where we've had good luck recently if you've seen some of our posts. This is a colonial homestead going back to the early 1700s.

Earthworks had the finds of the day with this nice 1890 Indian Earthworks dug right be fore we left (using miner type headlamp), and what we think is a cufflink with an interesting design on the front (any ideas if that's what it is)? He sees a butterfly on the cufflink and I don't see it. I found the buckle and the metal ring thing. Still a good amount of ground to cover and we are hoping for some 1700s coins.

Nice photos done by Earthworks...

I dont think the cuff link is as old as some think it is. I would place it in the 1930+. To me it looks a lot like work done in the country of India for export. I have been wrong before but thats my feeling. It is a french decor of sorts but not the type I have seen in early artifacts. Early french would not be decorated with stars.
