it is a toss up between QUEEN at the Chicago Stadium in 1979

Man, that stadium was absolutely great for acoustics ! I went to that concert and way many more Blackhawks games back then.

It's a toss up between any Springsteen one, seeing Paul McCartney (3rd row) or the price for REO/Frampton/Santana (all 3 for $10.00 at Summerfest a few years back) ...

Billy Thorpe, when they stole the show from the lead act, Nazareth, with their song "Children Of The Sun". :headbang:

That was soooo many years ago, but I still remember it like it was yesterday.

I Only saw one Pink Floyd Concert

"The Wall"

Was awsome to see them build the Wall :headbang:
, But sounded like

Pink wasn't well, and stayed back at the hotel,
so they sent a surrugate band,
and played a CD :tongue3:

sound was Perfect (Too Perfect) no Deviation
or words, no Extensions on even one song.

& No encore

would have liked to hear

Carefull with that ax Eugene

Echoes

or even something off

dark side if the moon,
Animals,
or Wish you were here

Dweezil / Zappa plays Zappa
Robin Trower

I'm an 80's guy.

1. AC/DC: For Those About to Rock tour
2. Def Leppard: Hysteria tour
3. G & R: Was easily the best I've ever attended...but I put them third here because Axl is a butthook.
4. Van Halen: 1984 tour
5. Boston or Aerosmith...pick em.

Don't remember the exact year, around 1967-69. My girlfriend in NYC called me up, said she had a surprise for me. I went down there (about 25 miles) (yeah, she was that hot!) and she had a couple of her girlfriends and said let's get a taxi, but wouldn't tell me what was up. Taxi took us downtown to the Fillmore East, it was the Who, the first Tommy show and my girlfriend had great seats!! Show was fantastic and we had all eaten some magic and were totally blown away!! We get out (it was the early show) around 11:30 PM, grab another cab and all I want to do is go back to her place and make out but she tells the cabbie "Madison Square Garden!! She flashes another fistful of tickets and when we get there the Marquee says JIMI HENDRIX in big letters. Woohhoo!! Who to start and the late Jimi show to finish off the evening!! Great night!! NYC was unbelievable for music back then, Supremes, Stones, Cream, Gladys Knight, Sam and Dave, Bob Dylan, Animals, Dead, Jeff Beck with Rod Stewart, saw 'em all, not to mention all the great folk music down in the village. Never saw the Beatles live though, much preferred the Stones. I mostly go to the Clearwater festival now, it's a two day music fair in Croton-On-Hudson with mostly singer-songwriters, folk and country, and they get fantastic acts there. Four separate stages outdoors with music from around 10AM to 9PM. Bromberg, Natalie Merchant, Indigo Girls, Maria Muldaur, Tish Hinajosa, Arlo Guthry, Jackson Browne to name a few. Different musicians every year although some return on a regular basis.

THE BEATLES,Sept 11,1964,GATOR BOWL,Jacksonville,Fl
WAPE,the radio station of North Florida, brought The Beatles to Jacksonville-tickets were $5.00.
The night before,Hurricane Dora hit North Florida, knocking out allthe lights in Jacksonville, but the "Big Ape" said the show would still go on.Driving to Jacksonville from Ocala was mostly in darkness, and Jacksonville was also dark, except for that beacon of light that was the Gator Bowl.
That stadium was packed and anticipation was high when Bill Black's Combo hit the stage for a solo set,and then they backed up the other acts on the bill,The Exciters,Clarence "Frogman" Henry, and Jackie DeShannon.By this time the crowd was yelling "Beatles,Beatles"The wind was still blowing as they hit the stage-John,Paul,George,and Ringo!(Ringo's drum kit was nailed to the stage due to the high winds)Girls were screaming, and you could hardly hear them over the screams-No sound reinforcement system in those days, just a VOX Churchill PA and The Beatles playing though standard VOX amps.
They played for 30 mins, then the MC announced that they were taking a break, but after 10 mins all knew the magic night was over,The Beatles had left the building.
It had taken politics to bring The Beatles to Florida,as Florida and the City of Jacksonville, had laws concerning intergrated audiences at events. The Beatles refused to play for a segregated concert, and many strings were pulled to make this happen.
The Beatles never played Florida again.
"The Beatles gave the world what we were looking for,
On that Sunday night, when they changed the world,in 1964-song by Critical Mass
