best place at outer banks to shoot for coins,

Hey people,,just a question, not looking for anyones hot spot,,but can you give me an idea which beach area of the outer banks gives up more finds of cobs, pirate coins,,and such,,,i live in raleigh area, been in iraq for couple years and want to metal detect the outerbanks, but just need some direction on the area,,,any help will be appreciated,,,,,thanks

I stopped in at the visitor center and brought the subject up. One of the attendees there hunts with a Whites. They only allow detecting North of the coast Guard Station, I believe it was mile post 9, but can't remember for sure. better check because they frown on detectors being used on the National seashore. Good luck, when I was there it snowed(last April) and was cold as a witches,,,,,, well you know!
