I went to a park to detect that I and many other detectorists have hit a lot. I wanted to try out some gold ring settings from Gerry's youtube video on the Xterra gold. It was pretty boring the first couple of hours. (Some can slaw, couple of clad quarters and a lot of nulling.) I was getting discouraged, so I went to leave but decided to detect around this tree in front of my car. All of a sudden I get a booming 8 on the Xterra. I thought it must be a surface pull tab. I ran my Deteknix pin pointer over the spot and it screamed. So I took out my screwdriver and bent down to pop the target when in the dirt and grass I saw a circular gold rim. I said "No way!." I popped it and out came this beautiful men's 14k gold signet ring.

It was meant to be yours "M".Unless the marks in the ring say gold and silver, the signet could be white gold or platinum as someone else suggested also.

If I don't find a ring within 30 feet of my car next time out, I'm going to be pissed!:) Congrats on a beauty of a ring!

Thanks everyone. In that pic is the discrimination pattern I used if any xterra users wanna try them. I opened up the 40-46 so I would not miss silver. Makes for a lot quieter hunt. But hits the gold if any is there.
