I just received my latest issue of Coin World with the monthly values insert. I cannot believe the jump in value some early Lincolns have taken in just one month. Some have more than doubled! Here's a random sampling (the first price is the October value, the second the Nov. value, all quotes are for "Good" condition coins):

1909-S $85/$110
1910-S $9/$17
1911-S $20/$30
1912-S $14/$25
1913-S $7/$15 [red](+114%!)[/red]
1914-D $175/$250
1914-S $14/$25
1915-S $9/$20 [red](+122%!)[/red]
1922 Plain $550/$750
1924-D $18/$40 [red](+122%!)[/red]
1931-S $70/$125

Anyone who has watched Lincoln prices over the years knows that fluctuations this drastic are unheard of. I wonder if this is an honest reflection of a series that hasn't significantly risen in value in decades or a cagey marketing ploy by hobbyists who foresee renewed interest when the series reaches its centennial in 2009. What do you think? Might be a good idea to delve into penny boxes more often!

And I thought that the 1931 S I bought 3 months ago in F for $80 was a bit pricy. Now its worth more that what I payed, even in good.

According to the price guide your 31-S is now worth $150 in F. Nice foresight there CC!

My keys are finally starting to multiply in value too but it took a lot of years.

- Got an 09-S in VG for $50 in 1984 & now it's at $125

- My 1914-D in Good I bought in 1986 for $55. Today? $250!

- My 1931-S in EF was $55 in 1984 and $190 now. Woo hoo!

Can't wait to see how the next two years play out.

Thats cool. I do both TH and CRH and Coin collecting. I have been a serious collector for about 2 years now, but I like TH alot too. Because im just turning 16 I can't really go out and buy 1958 NGC PF69 wheat cents. But I can search for them. The one I found probably is a proof 67 cameo. But then again it is not graded.

To me its just a lot of fun to buy coins and find them for a collection. You might like some of the unsearched coin lots you can get on EBAY. But do NOT buy from Suncoins, they ripped me off. Have you ever heard of "collectorsinternet.com"? I am hoping to order one of those in a month or so.

Last year I got ripped off by collectorsinternet.com. I ordered 6 rolls of Indian cents, advertised as average circulated, no culls or junk...... I got 6 rolls of green bent holed junk. tried to do a return, now no money or junk coins. no response from collectorsinternet.com. Thought people would want to know.

I just picked up the Dec 07 CoinValues magazine and either the prices haven't changed in the last month or the time that the magazine went to print was about the same as the your Nov 07 CoinWorld issue.

The only other coin I thought was interesting was the 1909 VDB. Compared to most of the other coins listed it has a relatively high mintage and at least since Aug 06 (my previous issue of Coin Values), it too has shot up from $4 in G-4 to $15 in G-4.

Glad I found a couple of those this year. :) And one was either AU-50 or really close to it.

I'm very bullish on pennies, especially the older wheats. Let's get 'em while there're still some to be got!
