Hello everyone! Just had to share what my 5 and 6 year old girls found this weekend on our trips to the grocery store.

At the self check out lane my oldest took off running towards the "Money Machine" Thats what they call it.
I was just about done and she rushes back screaming "DADDY THERES COINS IN THE MONEY MACHINE!"
Shes holding out her hands with a BIG pile of coins, and an even bigger smile on her face.
I saw a big odd shaped silver coin and others and I had her put them in her pocket so we can get back to the car.

I couldn't believe it, this machine has never given up ANYTHING before.
In fact the day before I go check it with my wife and say "Ive never found anything in this one"
I still have yet to find anything at that store.. oh well at least I know it produces :icon_thumleft:

All together there was $0.69 in clad, a watch battery and a 1969 British New Pence 50!
Ive never heard of it or seen one and Im so very happy for my daughter on her first big foreign coin!

Here is the close up.

Now today it was my youngest daughters turn to try her luck. Sure enough she reaches in and I hear that sweet sound of jingling coins!
No way! Two days in a row at two different Money Machines! I couldn't have been more excited for my little lady.
And the fact that they both had found something waiting for them.

She shows me the haul and she has a dime and seven Lincoln cents. All clad but every one is going home happy!
I congratulate her and were both super excited that she had some coins to come home with and add to the piggy bank :hello2:
With a victory at hand I let them have the candy they asked for at the check out. They both deserved it:laughing7:

So my children have set the bar very high at the "Money Machine" for 2018
So far I have ONE PLASTIC Lincoln Penny this year :icon_scratch:

Im going to let them do the checking from now on. They have better luck:icon_thumleft:

The real score however was spending some quality time with my sweet little girls.
Taking advantage of the small warm up we had this weekend.
We got in a nice bike ride and some outdoor time by the river.

I love it when the kids get treasure. My boys are now grown but they used to hit the CoinStar all the time and found a few silvers over the years as well as lots of foreign coins and a few tokens. I've gotten MANY nice finds from my local machine.

Unfortunately they replaced my #1 CoinStar jackpot machine with a newer machine that's a different brand. So far, ZERO silvers. I have gotten a few pieces of clad, 4 Chuck E. Cheese tokens and a couple of Canadians. Dunno if this machine rejects silver like the old machine or not. I'm thinking probably not but time will tell.
Maybe someone out there knows??

This new machine has a spinner where you just drop your coins in/ It's at least twice as fast as the CoinStar. Dunno the brand but I'll try and find out and maybe post it.

Anyway, congrats to your youngn's on their finds. Their smiles say it all....
