Strange place for gold to have been, but my heart would have skipped a beat or two at first.

Not sure what it is. It doesn't look like iron pyrite. Jeweler said its not gold but didn't say what it might be.

Well that stinks.
I've found gold and silver in tot lots, so don't give up on them. Parents and baby sitters play in the tot lots with kids. Be sure to check the outside perimeter before you leave.

Thanks. I check the perimeter when the ground is not rock hard. We need a little rain here in central Arkansas to soften the ground.

Yeah, I'm in southeast Texas and we're in a drought too. I've been doing the tot lots and shallow surface hunting. Going in the morning!
