The Patriot and I had the pleasure of playing find the cannon ball with the Iron Brothers. Visitor's won 2 zip but that was all part of our plan as we will be the visitors next spring and have a very good away game lol.

We had a great day digging and catching up on things since we last met up.

Here are my finds from the day. Musket balls a crusty copper, 2 bale seals, French marines button, sportsman button and a blow hole button.

Just noticed on the bale seal the word couvertures which means.
bedclothes or provisions, makes sense.

good finds Hans!

bedclothes and linens makes more sense than chocolate, not near as tasty, but just as essential!

see you in the spring for a hunt for sure!

The seal reads : Manufacture des couvertures de Toulouse

Meaning : Blanket factory of Toulouse

Yes and we all need bedclothes, I would think blankets and such were very important during cold northern winters. it's nice to find a seal that tells the whole story, thanks.

Yep, it's the same seal.

You did well Hans, you were lucky to pull those seals out before leaving... that site is amazing... won't be posting mine as the 2 french coins are pretty toasty and musketballs are musketballs....We'll see what the spring will bring!

Just make sure it's not a counterstamp. There are blank disks with just the Fleur De Lys stamp.
