Although we now have plenty of choices, it's not helping us as none of them are top of the list.
Today we started on our newest permission & spent nearly 3 hours blind hunting on 2 fields that we can now cross off the list completely! Best find was a Roman Hair Pin by Cru'dad (random!).
After lunch I decided we needed to go to an area where at least we could get something instead of continuing our risky strategy. I plucked to go back to the green waste field, because we had a chance of a little bit of everything.
6.5 hours total;

1 Scrappy Roman Ses.
Medieval Mount
1 Livery Button
3 Jettons - 1 early French

PS. We also picked up 19 golf balls, the most in a day!
1 broken Roman Hair Pin
Bits...

Thanks for sharing the amazing stuff as always! I'm curious how do you sort and store all your stuff? I'm guessing you probably have a couple thousand coins and buttons, some better than others etc. But what do you do with all of it? A home museum? a 50 gallon drum full of scrappies?

To begin with they are all in separate tubs until I have shown & shared the finds with the various land-owners.
Then they are sorted by type ie. Buckles, Buttons, Coins, etc
Within each of those types I have many storage solutions, let's just use the buttons as an example;
All plain buttons & 4 holed buttons are in a kind of scrap bucket.
I then have several print block sorting drawers broken down into;
Medieval/Post Medieval/Tombac/Decorated etc...
Early Military/Militia/Later Military
Livery Buttons - sorted into 160 different types
Railways/Hunts/Transport/Political etc

So basically everything is sorted into categories then into individual drawers which takes up most of my loft space.
