This is several small hunts with the best find today, an 1835 Capped Bust half dime, my oldest U.S. coin. I couldn't believe when I saw it in the hole 8 inches down. I almost didn't dig it as it rang up like a zinc Lincoln. Also the 1863 fatty Indian was today and a rookie mistake was made. I scratched it. It was in rocks and clay and I couldn't hardly get anything out of the hole, so I got careless. 12 Wheats ranging from 1930 to 1958, a 5 Peso coin from the Philipines that I recovered from a coinstar, a model T valve stem cover, and a Blair County, Pa dog tax paid tag from 1908. That would be the oldest dog license I have ever dug. The Capped Bust is my first Capped Bust coin and a big bucket lister for me. These small hunts have been squeezed in while remodeling a kitchen for my better half. I haven't had a lot of time to MD but I am thankful for the few nice finds. Great little silver you got yourself, liking the tag also. Awesome hunt.

Great finds man! The 1/2 dime is definitely a bucket lister and the dog tag is an oldie for sure. Congrats!!

A few nice finds? Yeah, right. Lets try a few spectacular finds.

I am very pleased with the half dime. I don't see them around my area very often. What part of Indiana are you in? We just returned from a week in Winona Lake. Did some MDing there but not much luck this time.

That's a sweet silver coin and a big congrats on notching it off your list. Nice fatty too. Foreign coins are always interesting. Way cool dog tax tag. I actually have one from the late 1800's. Can you believe our government has been taxing our pets for over a century?!? :BangHead: Also the Model T valve stem cover. I have dug several of them and NEVER knew what they were until this post! LOL! Learn something new everyday I guess. Great hunt mate.:headbang:

Hey Johncoho I'm in Indianapolis.

Hello Johncoho. Very nice finds. It's great when you can get your coil over something good doing short hunts...glad you dug that CB hole. Good Luck out there. C9

You'll be on cloud nine for a week ...and it will light a fire to do it again.....treasure hunter.....:occasion14:

There should be some nice old buildings around there to fine really old finds.

That's true. Ironically though my oldest find was in the wood chips of a school tot lot. I found a 1600 year old Roman coin. I figure a kid brought it in for show and tell. Then he lost it during recess.

Congrats on some terrific finds. Your half dime really caught my eye. The details on the coin are quite strong, but the surfaces don't appear right for a silver coin buried so long. I wonder if its a contemporary counterfeit. I'd certainly be thrilled with it either way.

Beautiful Half Dime and cool relics too boot! :occasion14:

Big Congratulations on finding your first capped bust coin!!! It looks to be in very good condition too. Its always a thrill to find old silver...but you found yourself a piece of really, really old silver. Well done.

Looks like a valve cover for an old model T.
Sweet little Capped Bust 1/2 dime and Fatty IHP. That dog tag is definitely cool.
Excellent, Excellent Hunt.
