OK,OK,just so nobody shows up saying they were born in the backseat of a '58 Chevy Impala.

Hey WD,

That trip you're taking, what would warrant another quick stop in Lake Charles??? Ya, you're right, those coonass women are hard to handle, a lot country and pretty too boot. OHHHH Shy!!!! Ha! I was just there in December. Visited my mother who lives in Sulphur (8 miles outside of LC). The place is the same as when I lived there years ago. Although, Lake Charles does have a new casino and it's awesome. The wife and I went there before we left. You have to take I210 to get to it. I want to say the name of it was Langdulac or something like that. Man, it's truly one of the most beautiful casinos outside of LV I've ever been in....Check it out online... Once you see it you may want to give some of your money to the folks in LC....
Take care and have a safe trip....

Hey scott, didn't know you were from that area.Tell me this, going out of LC toward Dallas, before you get to Orange,tx,there was a(1958)BBQ and swim lake run by an old colored man.We stopped there for some bbq and he had these pits in the ground and when he raised that lid,he had half a beef in there and he says where ya want me to slice from?Damn best bbq i've ever had! We asked about takin' a swim and he said sure.Well, when we went to get in,there must have been 6 'gators out there watching. We asked him if this was the swim area and he said yup!We asked him how we could swim with those gators out there,he said swim fast.We didn't swim but it was good bbq.I guess 1958 might have been a little too early for you,but I say again, thos cajon gals could really do the stroll!

WD,

I bet that was in Vidor, TX...... My bet anyway... Glad you didn't swin that hole, Ida never met ya if that'd been the case. Oh, and I'm not from there... Just lived there for some time after the parents got divorced. Mom headed back down from TN and we lived with my Mam-maw and Pap-paw. I was born and raised mostly in the good ole state of Tennessee. Louisiana is where my Mom and her clan are from. Actually, they're all from Fisher and Many (pronounced manny) Louisiana north of FT Polk in Sabine Parish. You wanna talk some rednecks..but I'm proud of em all case they've stayed on the same tract of land since time began. Road's even named after em. If you wanna call it a road. My Grandparents moved down to Sulphur in '48, ten years before you traveled thru there..... Dang, that is a while ago.. Take care buddy and have a safe trip. If you do go thru Lake Charles you'll end up going through Sulphur on your way west along interstate 10.....if that's the way you go stop there in Sulphur at the Boudin house and eat some for me.... I sure love Boudin....

Well,I gotta kinda think about whether or not I can make two hunts in one year.It might depend on how I get treated and what I win at the LA hunt.

I don't know if I will get to come to Kansas this year. The weekend it's planned for is the weekend of my 12 year wedding anniversary. My wife is working all weekend long but she has taken offense to the thought of me coming to the hunt? Women you just can't figure em out..... ::)

my biggest problem is time, I'm thinking, I'll only hunt for an hour, next thing I know three hours have gone by and I'm in trouble

I would think if it was me and if she was the most wonderful wife in whole world. She would want me to get going to hunt to keep her happy. She'd be soooooooooo thankful to have me out of her hair she push me out to go hunt!
