I found this stirrup today after a few minutes of detecting. It was on a worn down trail about 4" in the dirt. To the best of mine and google's knowledge, it is either from a McClellan or a Confederate copy of one, but being in CT I don't think it is the copy. One of the pieces across the bottom is broken off. It showed up under coins which means it is probably brass since it has black on it and one of the articles says that's what it is made of. I'm including pictures of it and links to the articles I found about it, 2 of which are from this site. If you know of its age or anything about it that would be great!!
