Great story. Funny as I currently live in the small- 1 mile by 1 mile- village of Sloan NY. just on the outskirts of Buffalo & know of one of the people mentioned. The old Sloan High school (on Harlem Rd.) has been closed for many years now & Sherkston beach (Quarry) Canada has always been a frequently visited place by us Buffalonians! Great to hear about such reunions,Thanks for the post & link!!

1936: William Feinbloom, a New York optometrist, fabricates the first American- made contact lenses and introduces the use of plastic.

That was a great story, just think of the slim chances of finding that ring.
