Bavaria Mike said:The first coin, German, Carl Theodor was the Duke of Bavaria. Has several coins with his name on them. I priced them in my book, although I did not see your coin and they sell for a good amount of $$$. Your coin may be a Thaler, minted for a celebration (New Years Eve) that took place on the date of the coin. Reverse translation is something like "By Carl Theodors 50th year celebration jubilee dated 31 Dec 1792 ". The "I" is used for the "J" on this coin. I would think it is worth a nice amount of $$$ but don't really know. His coinage may have had low mintage's since he was just the duke. HH and HNY, Mike
