Off topic, how can a woman, never age, and only gets more beautiful as she ages ?
getting back on topic: I like that she lets you keep the detectors on the couch, do you take them to bed too? :laughing7: perhaps a handgun and a pro pointer under the pillow?

Make sure you keep extra batteries for the pro pointer. She will thank you!

Bet you would never guess where I stand. ha ha.
One of the primary purposes of our Constitution was to limit the power of government. Allowing them to interpret "Shall not be infringed" is like letting the fox guard the hen house. I will not be told whether or not I can arm myself. We have a legal and God Given right to defend ourselves. Without fail, every municipality that has made legal carry laws more restrictive has seen an increase in violent crime. The perfect environment for a predator is an environment where the prey cannot resist.

Now off the soap box.

The canteen pouch is for the Glock. The backpack is for the water. I have worked in and around the gun industry for decades as well as in law enforcement. I work part time at a shooting range where tactical handgun, shotgun, and long gun classes are taught (as well as long range rifle, and carry permit classes). With very few exceptions most experts agree that concealed carry gives the tactical advantage when the danger is human. In the wilderness ease of access usually dictates open carry. The best gun to carry is one that you will, so don't go too heavy to allow for a reasonable degree of comfort. Just my 2 cents. Happy hunting.:icon_thumleft:

Only when I go into the hills of the motherload, looking for gold rush campsites, a lot of backwoods hilljacks up there and no law up there!

Why leave home without it? A gun is a tool and you never know when you will need it……sure a knife or a sharp tool may work, but a 45 is very effective in terminating problems when needed.

Concealed guns are criminals game and normal Americans huh???

Open carry not allowed in as many places as concealed are by law. It varies by state for an example. Some allow open carry but more may favor concealed. For people hunting in my state who do not have a carry concealed permit, a handgun must be open carried. Hope that helps explain it a little.

I carry a Springfield .45 90% of the time when I leave home including when I'm detecting.... I have a constitutional right to defend my family and myself and I have a license to carry concealed......

I would rather die standing on my two feet defending our Constitution than live a lifetime on my knees......

My fiancée is in Canada born an raised in a area by Guelph Ontario. Well there was this family last name knight big ass family well they basically ran Guelph like they were a gang. Once at a party one of them got disrespected or something and they threw his arm on a table and cut it off with a machete. So Ontario at least can be violent. Having a knife wouldn't be a bad idea while detecting. Really blows that you can't have pistols there. When I move there I'm going to see the laws on owning a sawed off pump for home protection. Would never use it I hope. Just the pump is intimidating lol.
I know though Canada is a very friendly place. I uses to live in mn and people were rude and always in a hurry. Down south they are not in a hurry and pretty nice. Canada however is quite nice very polite people there.

When I think about it, I take my Ruger Vaquero .45 along. I travelled and camped in 4 states recently and never even took it along. In my experience in an armed confrontation if you get your gun within 3 feet of me it belongs to me; that's how I was trained. I have pulled that off a few times in the past without gettin shot. I'm older and slower now though, so probably couldn't do that. Always remember, if you're armed, and you get in a wrestling match, there will be a gun involved. Yours.

My hand is already on Mr. Glock before anybody gets within 10 feet.

Just my 2 bits here, first off I realize the people on tn are detectorists/ prospectors enjoying plying there hobby or maybe making there living at it. I must say that living in Canada I envy my neighbors to the south that are able to carry side arms in open view or concieled where the law allows. Here in Canada when I venture into the woods where my hunts take me I am not permitted to carrry a side arm. I am reduced to carrying bear bangers, bear spray, hatchet, knife, shovel, etc. I also carry a modified rem. 870 defender which I have to lean against a tree when I find an area that I concentrate on. My faithfull dog is always with me and always alert, no matter how much I am concentrating on what I am doing I will always be loud to let any animals know that I am in the area (HELLO BEAR...) Dogs are great but if they don't wind or hear anything you could still surprise a predator. Point is, a side arm at close range gives the holder a much better chance of survival in such situations.

That's because Canadians allowed their government to disarm them.
