Confederate Block "I" with stars!

Got out the other day with Randy, Ron, and James and was lucky enough to see this sweet Block I come up! I was in the dirt pile from the hole we were excavating. I hadn't checked the dirt in awhile, so I checked the main part of the pile first, then the outskirts. That's when I got a +18 VDI # on the MXT, which turned out to be this awesome coat button. It's my first! I believe the iron back is the reason it gave the low number on the machine...usually big buttons come in quite a bit higher.
Finds total for the day was a broken bottle, 3 ring minie ball, melted lead, and the button.
After I cleaned it, someone else noticed that there are stars around the outside edge of the button, which makes it more rare! I was ecstatic, as I had not noticed it initially!
Thanks for looking!
Tony

Re: Confederate Block "I" with stars!

Are there 3 stars on the "I" as well? Either way that is an awesome find. according to Albert's button book that is a rare one. Most Confederate buttons have a relative value of 20-35. The block I without stars on the I has an RV of 85 and the one with the stars has a 100 RV.
