I had to downsize my box, so brought home the heavy coins that belonged to my dad. Although I was never interested in old coins before, now that I am hunting for them...everything is different! I figured there would be some of you who might enjoy seeing some of the coolest coins I found. First there is a set of all of the silver dollar types minted. They are all in great shape, though I don't know how to grade them. I love the 1799 bust! Then there is a similar set of the half dollars minted. The bust in an 1818. They are all beautiful! There are also 5 1887 Morgan dollars. There is an 1829 half dime in great shape and a 1918 gold 20 pesos. Love looking at all them and imagining who might have held them!

I was the same way never had an interest in old coinage, until I started digging them up. It's gratifying to see you are keeping them safe and not cashing in on them. :happy3: thanks for showing

Absolutely Beautiful!! Your Dad must have been a collector.....they are in great shape. You should be proud.
Thanks for sharing. I hadn't been checking the finds for a few days. Glad I did today.

Taht 1799 is a 4,000-5,000 coin! The 1829 half dime is , at the VERY least, 1,000. It is MS with incredible rainbow color. Probably get more than that, as there is a premium for such an incredible piece. Congrats and thanks for showin'. The Hogge

Your dad knew what he was doing! Nice coins. If those represent your "down-sizing", I'd love to have a look at what's left in your bank box!

My dad was the kind that would bring home BAGS of coins from the bank and we would search through them at the kitchen table. He would buys bags of silver dollars back in the 60's and we would look for the best of them. Wish he had kept all of those real silver ones! These are obviously collections he bought and didn't happen upon. Wish I could find some old stuff with my Ace 250! Thanks for looking!
