Once again thanks to Land-Mag for the lift. We started before lunch as heavy rain was forcast & it came!
I started on the Copse Field which is another one of our Roman Sites that has had a deep plough. I'm chopping & changing sites to get a 'feel' where to concentrate. I only spent 1 hour 15 minutes on this site & had my best Roman Silver (Vespasian) this year plus 10 Roman Coins including my first Vespasian Sestertius circa AD69:headbang:
Spent 2 hours 15 minutes on a nearby site with only 5 Roman Coins (1 silver plated).

Totals:
14 Roman Bronze Coins
1 Silver Plated Bronze Core Coin
1 Silver
Roman Bronze Bead

Another great short session & some clues as to where to start.

man those romans are just too cool. my uncle dug some many many years ago while stationed in England. holding them in my hand was what got me interested in detecting.

Cru , I'm amazed that you found two very decent Vespasians on the same hunt - The denarius is great , but i'm guessing the sestertius is
the tougher find in that condition - Outstanding day out ! Argentium.

Good job with that romans. Two Vespasians is great! Good condition on the Sestertius too! I was in Duxford this weekend, sunny, not too warm and no rain! :headbang:

I had no clue about detecting until my Uncle gave me one at 11 years old, but I was already collecting coins & liked history at school.:hello:

Very nice coin finds :hello2:

I was recently reading how the Seated 'Brittania/Liberty' designs first appeared on ancient Romans.
HH to you!
