The Revenant In Canada, filming took place in Calgary and Fortress Mountain in Alberta, in Kananaskis Country west of Calgary, the Badlands near Drumheller, and at Squamish and Mammoth Studios, Burnaby, in British Columbia. The scenes in the waterfall were filmed at the Kootenai Falls near Libby, Montana.

Quite an embelleshed take on the Hugh Glass story ,but a fun movie. The bear was rather fake but oh well.

The knife Glass finishes Fitzgerald with in the movie was American made , and still probably available from the same maker.
Various names are given similar knives but knife with eyes is one I like. So called due to the large brass rivets/washers on the handle scales.
Attributed to Hudson Bay types ,but rumors exist of a Euro import during the fur trade too.
While northwoodsmen depended on the axe ,Why not a couple knives too?
The knife Glass used , many others used for a variety of tasks.
No perfect tool ,as a variety of axe ,small knife and large knife are better...The one tool debate puts such a knife into the choices.

One early description was that of a narrow cleaver with a rounded end.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep
But I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I sleep
And miles to go before I sleep

AHA!

Remember the jack with the broken handle that I spoke of last Friday?

Well, ole Scotty finally figured out how to post pictures!
(Don't ask me how I did it; I pushed more buttons than you would find on the space shuttle! LOL!)

Anywho, here's what awaited me....
