He only has 3 feed back points and i sold him some electronic circuitry for gold recycling. He said he got it today and opened it and as soon as he saw the contents he requested a refund. Well back and forth a few times (through ebay msg) he said the box had a gun in it.

Now i only have one and I know it didn't accidentally get shipped away so I asked for a pic. This is what he sent.
Actually he said there was a bag with the gun wrapped up inside. I asked if it looked like the box had been tampered with he said no.
So I let ebay issue a pick up label and I will see what I get back. The frame looks new and real in the photo.
Any one have any idea the make and model from this shot? I used to have a brushed stainless S&W magnum but this is too shiney.

It's nickel plated. The pic is so out of focus I can't tell much else. Looks to be western style. Could be a reproduction black powder cap and ball revolver. Cap and ball revolvers didn't take modern cartridge bullets with shells and loading the cylinder with done by hand and fired with the use of a percussion cap. Reproduction cap and ball revolvers are often sold as kit guns for the buyer to put together themselves. I'm guessing this is a kit gun that was not completed and that is why the cylinder and trigger guard are missing. Kit guns can range from very very good to garbage. Without better pictures it is very hard to tell. I'm guessing modern reproduction kit gun that was never completed and on the low end when it comes to reproduction revolvers but I could be wrong. If you get it back post some better pics and I might be able to tell you more.

That's just stupid! Couldn't the guy (customer) come up with something better than that?!?!?

It's to the point where you pretty much need to record yourself packaging every single thing and keeping that video on file. Then let some yahoo come making ridiculous claims and see what happens then!

Good luck Dan - something tells me you'll need it.

Dan, only one gun! You have some work to do! But on a serious note, good luck with this. I don't want to steal your thread, but I know you will appreciate this. Last weekend at one garage sale I bought enough jewelry and sold it last night, 5 days later for enough to nearly pay for the Python I picked up Tuesday night. I am one happy lil cowboy as you might imagine. I believe the revolver is a "cowboy gun", not a cap and ball gun....looks like it might be an old High Standard Double Nine or something similar. Probably not that exact one, but something similar. If you aren't familiar with it you can google it up and see if you think I am right. Taurus calls theirs The Gaucho, I believe. Good luck with things.

He said he stopped checking out what he sent when he opened the box and saw a bag. The revolver was in the bag. I wonder if there are other parts in that bag? From how he said it and soon as he say the gun he didn't want anything any more. This is a guy and even if he is anti-gun seeing a gun in a box shouldn't put him in a pink/rainbow flag mood. I will video the opening of the box when I get it back. I will also weigh the contents to see if anything has been removed.

Tory, just got my first semi-auto a couple weeks ago. A S&W 9mm, two tone. In a couple months I will be moving up north and get a concealed carry permit.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I already told this guy not to touch anything. I am an ex-sheriff (from way up north) I plan on doing some investigating. My ex-bro-in-law is local and a retired detective. I will drop him a line.

If I opened up a box of jewelry and there was a pistol inside of it I'd be leaving 5 stars and dancing around the room. And then telling the story on here. I bought a box of jewelry from this lady and I got a 9 mm handgun in the middle of it. lol. Whatever's in that box you'll be telling this story for the rest of your life! The next guy that comes along and says why should I sell on eBay? Because you might get a gun in your order!

Hello can I help you? Yes I would like a big Mac with a large fry and a gun. Oh and a soda Dr Pepper please! I swear that's the most random damn thing ive ever seen in my life... to open a box of phones and have a gun inside of it. I hope you post pictures of whatever the heck you get back in that box. Maybe you should do a YouTube video on it. And post it on eBay forms I swear that's the craziest thing ever. YouTube: The best of eBay!!!

That is so weird! How can there be a gun in the package? Video the item going in, the shipping box being taped and being weighed. Lately I've been putting a mark in red pen under the clear packaging tape. Lol!

Cyberdan I would do the same thing. If it was me and I had purchased a item from an individual and supposedly had a gun sent to me I would contact the seller and then the local authorities to run the numbers on that gun to see if it was used in the commission of a crime. More than likely that dude is just a total looney toon and trying to get himself a refund

Cyberdan, what's your eBay name. I need to buy some jewelry and get a free gun included. Tops the lady who tosses 14k jewelry in as a "hitchhiker". 😂😂😂

So when you get the package back and there is no gun inside are you gonna contest the refund? I would, I mean that was his excuse for returning it after all. Friggin whack jobs (shakes head in disgust).

There is not one part of this story that makes any sense...
Well here is the sense I made out of it.

Well I got my shipment back yesterday and sure enough there was a gun frame inside. I sold electronic greenboards for gold recovery and more than one pound was missing.

The gun is a vintage, cheap and damaged piece, probably being sent to a repair shop to restore. See all my photos. By the proof marks I figured out that it is German and made around 1967. It looks like it has been well used but not taken care of. Rust in spots and bubbles under the chrome. Also, there is some sort of mineral deposit in spots. It is a 22 long rifle.

So somewhere between CA & MD my box burst open at the bottom (tape was not cut, it was torn or burst) and I am assuming another carton opened and spilled the frame. The postal worker just tossed it in my box without even thinking or inspecting or looking for the other box which probably had all the other parts. So now someone is very unhappy with the post office. I hope they insured it. It has serial numbers but I do not want to post on the internet. The barrel and the frame have matching numbers.

Does anyone think it can be rebuilt? It needs many parts and I do not even know the maker's name and it is not really that old and then would I be able to sell it because the serial number might be registered somewhere. Is there a master database of gun serial numbers. Anyone have the number to NCIS I want to call Abby.

Your assumption sounds correct. However, I believe it's illegal to mail a gun directly. I didn't think of that when you said they were sending it back, because I didn't think you were really going to get it. The person it was going to is probably a licensed gun dealer. If this is on the up and up. They will probably file a claim if it is. You may want to contact the po. I would not blindly turn it over to them. If it's legit, the dealer or seller would be able to provide you with the serial number.

Your right.............So why did a postal worker put this gun in my box and then later returning the box to me was also against the rules.

A nonlicensee may mail a shotgun or rifle to a resident of his or her own state or to a licensee in any state. Handguns are not mailable. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. A nonlicensee may not transfer any firearm to a nonlicensed resident of another state......

I probably should but i doubt it. They are so full of BS and red tape. I will be wasting my time and probably be required (or so they say) to tell my story to several people. And you know if no one ever claims it I will never get it back.

The gun is not complete is it? Not illegal to ship most parts of a gun. It's done on ebay all the time.
