Never will.

If they would Add Billards I'd watch that.

That will be right after poker goes in.

But I do love 9 ball, only wish I would have kept playing.

I Mainly Played 8 Ball
(Straight pool at home here,
for practice)
I was in the Top 10 in our League,
of over 300 I Believe, Don't remember
the exact Numbers.
but never quite good enough for a trophy.
my big problem, I always Refused to
play Safety's. IF I could
hit the Ball I Went for it.
If I Couldn't at least I Tried :P
It realy Irritates me wathing a pro
play a safety :D
Always wanted to Try 9 Ball,
But it wasn't a big thing around here.

I enjoy watching the Olympics, at the very least it breaks up the monotony of all the worthless shows on tv
besides watching that kind of sporting action in high def is really cool

I can't wait until the Olympics come here. Maybe then they will fix the bloody roads, clean up the filth, and pretend that this city is perfect in order to fool the world. Like a Martha Steward freak putting on a false front for the guests, yes that's what the Olympics can do for your city! ::)
When the Pan-Am games came here I saw all the crappy sports fields get revamped big time and now they are deteriorating back to the way they were before the games. :tongue3:
Mind you, it is human nature. I think most of time we clean our house is when guests are coming over!
I wonder what the E.T.'s think when they observe us humans from space? We must look pretty strange putting all that energy into playing games for shiny pieces of metal that really mean nothing.
I'd rather go metal detecting.
Dave.

I picked up on what IP said. My son was a track star in high school and got a free ride into college on it. He got second in a race once and I thought that was alright, but he pointed out to me he still lost. Also Jeff, if you ever were foolish enough to play a guy in a pool hall and ran the table, and then when he suggested you play another game for say $5, and then he proceeded to clean you out, you can agree that billiards is indeed a sport.

Hye,

Maybe you will get lucky, I know they have been talking about adding Billiards to the events (keep practiced up, just in case). They have been
adding new things for the last few Olympics.

I enjoy the Olympics. Being a snowboarder I love to watch the half pipe. Also I am a huge Hockey fan (Red Wings) so i pretty much watch every game that I can no matter the country. It is definitely nice to have something to break up the terrible T.V. programs out there.

I like both 8 and 9, but 9 can be much less forgiving. When it comes to playing safe a lot has to do with the rules you play by. With some bar rules playing safe can just be a cheap shot as anything goes, but if you play good ball in hand rules then the rules are the rules and you definitely don't have to feel bad about playing safe.

The last time I played any amount was a little stretch just before I started detecting. Since then I've barely touched a cue and it's pretty obvious the odd time I play. I think some day I might play again but hard to say because it's too connected to the drinks with me.

One time in my 20s a friend and I started playing and drinking at a tavern at about 4 in the afternoon. About 7 we ran into a guy we knew from the city who played and we started games for money. At 9pm things were still pretty even but we were getting loaded and he wasn't drinking. By 11pm we were down over a $1,000. LOL Every other night drinking didn't really hurt us because most of the time we weren't playing people on our level but it sure caught up with us on that particular day.

I Owned a 9' Table to Practice on.

The bars had 8' tables.

So I Had that avantage.

When I'd go to the bowling
ally they had a 7'.
Everytime I Played there I Felt
like I Was shooting Children.

I'd run 9 out of every 10 games,
only missing on bad break leaves.

havn't shot since my pool room & table burned up.

Been replaced With My Relic Room

Try going from a snooker table to something like a 4' x 8' :tongue3: The pockets seem a foot wide.

when I was 16 there was a pool Hall
in Tower City.

I Believe the Largest they had were the
Billiard Tables 11' ?

I Somtimes wished I Owned one of them
for 8 Ball Practice.

at least if there was 9 Ball in the Olympics
the winners would be picked by Skill
or Fixed Game.

Not by Judges picking by Country they
like that day

The only time I cared about the Olympics is when that downhill skier, Johnson I think it was, kicked all the rich boys butts in the downhill. He had been told by a judge in court he had better get into something productive or he was going to be put away. While the rich boys stayed in the Chalets, he and his Dad slept in a station wagon outside. I'm sure there is much more talent on the streets than we see on tv except for the fact their parents, if they're around, can't afford to blow that much money and time on them to produce a champion. For the most part, not all but most, we just see what rich folks can do for their kids.

Total waste of time, and money...Sports is over rated anyway, and it sickens me to hear some sports person called "a hero"......people fighting for our freedom are heroes...We should spend the money on feeding the poor in our Country.....

I Never understood the Phraze Sports Hero

Who did they Save ?

I Stand by my Definition of Hero.

A Person who Without Formal Training
and without Regard to their own Safety,
Saves a Life of another Human Being
without Expecting Payment, Praise
Or being Called a Hero.

The opening show was great, the best piece of music was Hallauya (sp?) by k.d.lang
But i did notice, the every time I see her, she seems to look more and more like Wayne Newton ::)
The death of the fellow on the luge did have a profound effect on a lot of people. I guess the description of what a luge run is, was pretty accurate.. Lay down flat, go like hell, try not to die..

Have you see the Canadian Womans Biathalon team? Skiing and Guns can be sexy..
