It sure was one cold windy day back in the camp! My son and I took my long time friend to the camp where we were digging before the BLIZZARDS. Snow was still in the fields but we hunted where the grass was showing and what a day we had. In one 5 foot area we found an entire coat of New York coat size buttons. All three of us got in on the fun. Immediately following those finds my son walked about twenty feet away and out popped a huge Connecticut coat button. Then my friend dug an eagle and numerous bullets from a slope adjacent to the New Yorks. A couple more buttons and 20plus bullets later we had just about frozen ourselves enough and we called it a day. Enjoy the pics!

In your digging, did you find anything to hint of a coat being placed/lost there, other than the buttons? Thread, etc.
What a day you had. We all pray for that to happen to us. Way to go.....and braving the weather.....kudos!!!

Thanks everyone for the great comments. The coat buttons were found right next to a small burn pit that had some iron pieces in it. One of the buttons was right next to the ash. On the back of one of the buttons there was a little thread but it all but disintegrated when I began to lightly clean the buttons. This was one of the best button days I have ever had. It must have been one messed up coat for that soldier to have discarded it. Thanks again everyone.
