I received permission to metal detect around a house right down the street from me. The house was built around the 1920's to 1930's so I was hoping to dig maybe a silver dime. Well, I did! I dug a small musket ball, then 2 together with sprue. About a foot away I dug this 1820 bust dime ( in bad shape but you can read the date) a few feet from it I dug a pulltab at about the same depth. Went on to find a few coins but nothing else good. Gotta love the Tesoro...Tejon?
No, actually it is an old Tesoro Golden Sabre II with a wide scan coil. Not much on depth but real good in trash. Great around housesites! Tennessee digger

Ouch! Nice hit tennessee digger I would be happy. I never found bust silver and do not personally know anyone that has. I do not even expect to find any, ever, but certainly hope I do, even if it's cut in half. That is a great milestone for detecting, condition not withstanding. :icon_thumleft:

Interesting - it was hammered throw with a old square nail, however, it was then finished on the reverse so that all the rough edges were hammered or pressed flat. Why?

Exciting find, TDigger! :icon_pirat: I've only ever found one of those and I can still remember the exact spot I found it. :D
