First Buffalo, a Rosie, & Lots of Digging with LI TOM.

This all began with a conversation the night before with LI TOM. Tom says, I bet you there are buffalos there. It stuck in my mind and the next day, I was ready to deliberately start digging nickels, something I never do. Fifteen minutes into the hunt turns up the Rosie pictured at about 2 1/2 inches. Five minutes later and only a few feet away turn up the buffalo nickel at about 2 inches. It's a first for me, and it really made the day. I continued for another 6 hours with no further luck.

Day 2 involved me and LI TOM trying to locate productive areas. We moved around quite a bit and it paid off well........Tom came out with some nice finds, less a small mishap. :). I scored some clad, a wheat and two dog tags. Lots of digging and lots of work this weekend. Photos attached.

It was great fun Ricardo.I found 3 silver Rosies.I always put my keeper finds in the front pocket of my jeans, unfortunately when I got home one of the Rosies was gone! The only consolation,it was by far the one in the worst condition>I will say I will be using a more secure system for holding my keepers.

Nice finds with the Explorer. You getting used to it's tones yet? Your buffalo looks like the ones I find. Good luck.

LI Tom said:
unfortunately when I got home one of the Rosies was gone!

That was the mishap........as Tom said, better the one that came out in bad shape than the two that came out nice and silvery.

Nice finds with the Explorer.

Mike, it was an all ACE 250 weekend............I dare not sacrifice my limited time just yet........I will transition, just need to do it at a moderate pace.

Congratulations on a first. ;D Those buffalo nickels are nice to find. I only will dig nickel signals if it's at a site that has a high probability for them.
