Went out this weekend again with 3cyclbill, and got in a few digs. Stoked on my first silver of 2018, a silver spoon. Which is also a first and a check off the bucket list for me. Even though it looks like a kid maliciously attacked it with a hammer, then fed it to a pig. Also pulled up yet another pocket watch, seems like I find at least a piece of one on every hunt. Another interesting find was the NYS 1924 dog license. The one thing I am not sure on is the pin up top. to fragile to be used to hold much together, Might be aluminum? Hair pin of some sort? Thanks for looking.

1924 dog tag or the mangled Silver spoon?? I would vote the dog tag as the find of the day. Sweet hunt.
Congratulations.

Thanks, I like the mangled 1800's spoon better I think. I like shiny stuff, as it doesn't show up often in the cellars.

Well done on the tag and the other finds. Silver is silver regardless of the condition, and getting the beat up spoon still is a nice find.
The find on the top might be part of a hair pin, or some other pin.
Give it and the melted blob on the far left to see if the dark mark on the thumb/finger skin has a egg smell, if it does smell then it has silver content.

Thanks I'll try it out when i get home. That top pin thingy is perplexing, I gotta look into it sometime.
