I’m kind of embarrassed to admit it, but this is indeed my first Spanish silver. I’ve found some cool stuff, including MA silver and a couple pocketfuls of coppers, but this one has eluded me. Unfortunately I just can’t get out that much anymore. I’ve been eyeing this small field for awhile but it’s only huntable for a few weeks after the snow melts and before the grass and brush get too high. Fortunately we had a lot of wet snow and ice this winter that knocked down the old stuff pretty good. I didn’t have one decent signal before this, and none after, so this was a shocker! Looks like the Lima mint if I have my mintmarks right. Wow, what a nice coin!! Spanish silver is so cool, it's one of the top things I want to find in the future.

Thanks everyone! I got to show it off at a family gathering yesterday, and we were imagining the person who lost it - how they were dressed, what they were doing, and how pissed they were when they realized they lost it. One of my favorite parts of detecting is thinking about the scene when an item was lost long, long ago.
