Got out for a bit today. Never got to the colonial cellar hole that I intended to go to. Got sidetracked by a couple other holes on the way in. Dug a few keepers out of the trash and iron but not much. Did get my first token. Believe it's a Montreal token from around 1830. Also got a crushed thimble and what I believe is a loom weight.

Though my hunt was not too productive I'm happy that I was able to help out a friend. Vino told me he's been in a slump. So I explained the necessary steps to break out of it. Let's just say it worked well for him :-)

Always cool to get a "different" copper. And that is one I haven't got yet.
For the record there are MANY varieties of that one, and some are quite valuable.

Looks like the ground will stay soft for awhile yet.

Good luck out there.

Cool token, and thanks for identifying my loom weights I found a couple weeks ago. I googled loom weights and seen I found two different varieties on my last hunt. That's a neat find, something different. HH!

Nice token Abe.

I will give a break and not ask a bunch of questions about your "bathroom treasure selfie"... however, it is just killing me. Just too classic.

GL&HH!

Seems like a pretty good hunt to me! I'm sure Vino's appreciative - I know I would be - if a friend would explain those necessary steps to me.

Cool artifacts and great token find. congrats on your first.

I've found one old mystery token early on. It was through happenstance that I was able to get it identified by a really old guy who remembered using them on a private bus in Baltimore city in the 1940's. He used to take a train into town and get the bus to take him around the city.

I love the history connected with these things as much as the finds themselves.
