5th time out in my yard with my ATP. finally heard a nice clean signal and dug it. was surprised to find a 1941-s wheat penny! noice! and the usual junk. temp was in the mid 30's with some residual snow dusting here and there. only could tolerate 30minutes before my hands said NO MORE. haha.
if it's cold where you are, STAY WARM and HH!

I remember my first. I still get excited. Currently at 38 wheats. My oldest coin isnt even a penny. Got a 1917 mercury dime. Have yet to find a wheat older than 1940 oddly.

Yep, the hook is set! Wriggle all you want.. you'll be in the boat in no time. Wheats r neat - I mean a 1914 is a hundred years old..
Much better than a flip top. Thanks for posting.

Awesome! Congrats on your first wheat!

Psssst! get yourself some gloves and those hand warmer packets! Dress warm and your good to go! Nothing can escape you now!

My M6 gets a little slow when it's real cold so it gets a hand warmer packet wrapped around it. Works well. Now if they only made human size packets we'd all be good!

Congrats, I still get a kick out of wheat, pulled two out of my snow covered yard last week. I've pulled over 20 out of my yard now and only two pre-date '40. Found my oldest about a month or so ago, a 1916. Keep going over the yard, every rain or after winter melt will cause the stuff to shift and may just be enough to catch the machines attention. Good luck and keep hunting until you can't hunt no more.

They do Msbeepbeep! Last year I bought an ice fishing suit from a shop in Minnesota. I wore it just once when it was 28 degrees when I started hunting. Sadly that was not cold enough and I was roasting within half an hour and had to take off the pants. I believe if my hands didn't get cold I could hunt in 10 below weather in that suit.........LOL
